These measuring devices are designed to detect instability and imbalances that are not visible to the naked eye. In Lea Porsager's interpretation, this concept extends from physical dimensions to metaphorical, historical, and spiritual ones. The calibration crosses here serve to register historical structures, both highlighting and erasing them. At the same time, they remind us that attempts to restore balance can quickly lead to new distortions and that small imbalances can have disproportionate consequences.
