As reflected in the title, 'Brute Force' the flag is based on a review published in Financial Times in 2016 by architectural critic, Edwin Heathcote, who discusses five books recently published on the subject of the movement " brutalism". In the article, right below the title is a photograph taken of the facade of the Birmingham Central Library with the caption: "The inverted ziggurat of Birmingham Central Library, which is currently in the process of being demolished © Robert Low". Einarsson reinforces the visuality of the photographic illustration from the article which is shown as the black part of the flag, at the same time twisting the meaning "brutalism". In the piece, Einarsson changes the subject around the discussion of an architectural brutalism to a discussion of the brutalism that sometimes lies within capitalism by adding the iconic colour form the Financial Times as the background colour to the text 'Brute Force'. The act of 'finding objects' and reenacting them, changing their original context so that the original meaning changes according to the new context it has been put into, is the core of Einarssons artist practice.
