Since its inception, NILS STÆRK has fostered global collaborations, particularly within the Central and Latin-American art scene, as well as with global art institutions, biennales, and galleries, creating new projects and opportunities with its represented artists and placing their work in significant art collections. The gallery has since its inception participated in several international art fairs such as Art Basel, Art Basel Miami Beach, Arco, Art Brussels, FIAC and ZsonaMaco.

Initially located in a small gallery in the warehouse district at Islands Brygge, followed by a large space at Carlsberg Copenhagen, the gallery relocated to a 500 m2former car workshop in the Northwest part of Copenhagen in the spring of 2017. This location still bears the mark of a raw, industrial aesthetic, a stark contrast to the gallery's minimalistic interior designed by Henning Larsen Architects. In 2024, the gallery expanded with a second space in Copenhagen's city center, responding to increased interest in exhibitions featuring its artists. Situated on a bustling high street, this space intertwines its shows with the vibrant city through large, street-facing windows.
