Paul Klee; Pädagogisches Skizzenbuch is based on the cover of book two of the fourteen Bauhaus books (written by Paul Klee and designed by László Moholy-Nagy) but with all textual information removed. The painting is an exploration of the no-mans-land between design and art, the continued relevance (or not) of the avant-garde and painting’s ability (or not) to take on new and other meaning in relation to its own contemporary context independently of the original source material.
