There Are Other Fish in The Sea, the site-specific installation now on view in the courtyard of Palazzo Strozzi in Florence. Eight pink travertine columns emger from a large body of water covering the entire space. The structure is conceived as potential refuges for water creatures when sea levels will rise in the future. On the 60th anniversary of the 1966 Florence flood, the installation challenges the centrality of humanity through interspecies architecture, bridging humans and marine life forms.
There Are Other Fish in The Sea is on public display every day until 2 August 2026.
The project is promoted and organised by Palazzo Strozzi and Fondazione Hillary Merkus Recordati in collaboration with Kunsthal Spritten, Aalborg, that will host the installation for its big opening soon.
Special Partnership with Fondazione Henraux and design in collaboration with KWY Studio.
