Nils Erik Gjerdevik has, since the late 1980s, established himself as a significant figure in Danish art with his explorations of the many possible forms of abstraction introduced throughout art history. He has also contributed to several public artworks, including at the University of Copenhagen on Amager and in the shopping center Fields.
In a sensually enticing universe, Nils Erik Gjerdevik’s paintings navigate the boundary between the recognizable and the abstract, the controlled and the expressive.
A richly illustrated catalog featuring images from the exhibition installation and an interview with the artist.
