The work "That song is our amulet" depicts the map of South America as a fist. The title refers to a passage in the story "Amulet" by the Chilean writer Roberto Bolaño where he calls into mind the Latin American continent and its political conflicts. This is further supported by the shape, reminiscent of a fist while also tracing the contour of South America. In this context, the sun’s impression can be viewed as a stigma – a permanent attestation to a proud, but also stigmatised population. Or has Bolaño writes The song that I heard (…) above and beyond all (…) was about courage and mirrors, desire and pleasure. And that song is our amulet.”
