Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 10 am marks the official inauguration of PARIS, a new playground by FOS. Placed between ARoS and Musikhuset in Aarhus, the work invites children and families to play and reimagine the city together.
A new park has been established between the museum and the concert hall, and within this public space the playground “PARIS” is placed. “PARIS” seeks to create a more intimate environment, shielding visitors from the surrounding large volumes — ARoS’s enormous façade and the long body of the Concert Hall.
Nestled between ARoS Aarhus Art Museum and the Musikhuset in Musikhusparken, the new playground is part of the city’s broader revitalization of the park. It blends art and play in equal measure. Visitors can explore a double slide, a climbing wall, a pétanque court, drums, a grassy hill, benches, several sandboxes, a five-meter climbing tower, secret paths, and countless opportunities to move, explore, and play together. Openings in the surrounding wooden walls invite visitors inside while also framing a series of painted wooden sculptures — their backs visible from the outside and their fronts from within. At the center, a pavilion called the BANK connects to two additional structures: the MUSEUM and the PARLIAMENT.
