Eduardo Terrazas Book Launch and Signing at Art Basel 2022

 EDUARDO TERRAZAS – COSMOS
"Cosmos" offers new approaches to the stunning artworks of Eduardo Terrazas. Four well-known authors present a multidisciplinary vision of the artist's ongoing series "Possibilities of a Structure". Which suggests at once a curiosity in the fabric of our universe and a profoundly human hope for underlying rationality behind the chaos of the world.

DESCRIPTION
Eduardo Terrazas has explored a lifetime’s worth of questions about the nature of the universe through the microcosm of his images. He derives his visual reflections with a basic geometric structure and a technique that is inspired by the Huichol tablas from Mexican indigenous tribes. His highly colourful and playful series "Possibilities of a Structure" – of which Cosmos is a subseries – has been an ongoing project since 1974 and comprises over 650 works until today: an artistic exploration of the boundaries of the infinite.

With contributions by Marcus Du Sautoy, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Guillermo Fadanelli, Arnauld Pierre

Ingvar Cronhammer biography out now

Ingvar Cronhammer's biography 'Med Gud i den ene hånd og tvivlen i den anden · Et roadtrip med Ingvar Cronhammer' by Kirsten Jacobsen, published by Politikens Forlag is out now.⠀
⠀
--⠀
⠀

Carlos Amorales new book 'The Factory'

Carlos Amorales – The Factory is the first European retrospective exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Carlos Amorales. It showcases the work of one of Mexico’s most important contemporary artists from the 1990s to the present day.

Carlos Amorales made an extraordinary artist book that accompanies the exhibition, together with the Amsterdam-based designers Mevis & Van Deursen. Amorales collaborated with Mevis & Van Deursen in 2000 on his first book Los Amorales, which is now a collector’s item.

By plunging into the depths of a single silhouette taken from Carlos Amorales’s Liquid Archive, letting it run amok and infinitely transform, this highly original artist book coaxes a disturbing understanding of both Carlos Amorales’s recent practice and the perversions of our time.

Including an enlightening manifesto by the artist and a new, enthralling text by author Reinaldo Laddaga, embedded in interweaving and overlapping layers of comic-book-like frames designed by Elsa-Louise Manceaux.

Shot on film, the portraits in Hairdos of Defiance track this ubiquitous expression of individuality on friends and strangers.

In the accompanying essay On Mohawks, Templeton reflects on the evolution of the mohawk, from its origins in indigenous culture to its emergence as a punk identifier, to its co-option by the mainstream, to its significance in his own life as an outsider kid growing up in suburbia.

This hardcover book features 62 photographs, printed in an edition of 1,500. Hairdos of Defianceserves as the catalogue for Templeton’s eponymous solo exhibition at Roberts Projects, Los Angeles, on view March 17 - April 21, 2018.' - Deadbeat Club.
